Edgewood Park

We went hiking for the first time this year in Edgewood Park just before sunset.  The miner’s lettuce was still in bloom, greenery everywhere, the flowers from the berry bush are coming into bloom (a favorite of Mia’s when they are ripe) and a bunch of bunnies let themselves be seen, if just for a brief hop from one bush to another.

We made it up about 3/4 of a mile before we decided that it was getting a bit too dark to make the whole loop….but it was high enough up to capture a beautiful sunset photo with Mt. Diablo as the star of the show.

It was a good decision to turn about face and head on back down the hill when we did, coming out of Edgewood Park at the end of dusk is not a fun experience–every crunch of the leaves in the bushes on either side of the trail can keep one’s imagination very busy, not to mention it might just a real danger.  All’s well that end’s well.  We sure are blessed to live in such a beautiful place with great access to trails and parks.
